As the covid-19 pandemic continues to spread throughout the world, Premium Health is taking steps to ensure that our patients are able to get the care and treatment they need. We are now offering covid-19 testing at our facility in Irvine.

There are two main types of covid-19 tests: diagnostic tests and antibody tests. Diagnostic tests are used to determine if a person currently has a covid-19 infection. Antibody tests can tell if a person has had a covid-19 infection in the past. At Premium Health we offer Covid-19 diagnostic tests solely in the form of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs. Let’s look at some of the various types of Covid-19 testing.

Covid-19 diagnostic tests can be done using different types of samples, including saliva, throat swabs, and blood samples. The most common type of test is a molecular test, which looks for the presence of the covid-19 virus in a sample. Molecular tests can be done using nasopharyngeal swabs (which go up your nose), oropharyngeal swabs (which go down your throat), or sputum (mucus that you cough up).

Another type of covid-19 diagnostic test is an antigen test. Antigen tests look for pieces of the covid-19 virus in a sample. Antigen tests are usually done using nasal swabs.

Premium Health is committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients. As part of this commitment, we are now offering the Accula rapid RT-PCR test at our facility. The Accula rapid pcr test is a reliable and accurate way to test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus while receiving the results in a short period of time. This test can be performed on both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. We believe that by offering this service, we will be able to help our community members get the care they need in a timely manner.

At Premium Health we offer in-home self testing kits as well. With this option, patients can use the provided tools to collect saliva samples. These samples can be shipped back to us with free next-day shipping. Once the sample is delivered to our laboratory, the results will be sent back to patients via text or email (by patient’s choice). These results are lab certified and can be used for international travel as well.

Unlike the majority of in-home testing kits, the kits provided from Premium Health are not Rapid Antigen tests. We at Premium Health would like to provide our patients with the opportunity to get the most reliable form of Covid-19 testing done at the comfort of their home. This convenient self-testing kit is called Curexa. Learn more about Curexa and order your self-test kit online at our website.

On the other hand, Covid-19 antibody tests are usually done with blood samples, but they can also be done with saliva or other types of samples.

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there is an increasing demand for antibody tests. These tests can tell if someone has had Covid-19 in the past and may now have immunity to the virus. But how do they work and what is the difference between them and diagnostic tests?

Covid-19 antibody tests work by looking for antibodies in a person’s blood. Antibodies are proteins that the body produces in response to an infection. If somebody has been infected with Covid-19, their body will produce antibodies to fight the virus.

The main difference between Covid-19 antibody tests and diagnostic tests is that diagnostic tests look for the virus itself, while antibody tests look for evidence of previous infection. Diagnostic tests are used to determine if someone currently has Covid-19, while antibody tests can tell if someone has had Covid-19 in the past.

There are several different types of Covid-19 antibody tests available, and the accuracy of these tests can vary. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine which test is right for you.

If you think you may have Covid-19, it is important to seek medical attention and get a diagnostic test. But if you want to find out if you have immunity to the virus, an antibody test may be right for you.

There are many different types of covid-19 tests available, and it is important to choose the right test for your needs. If you are unsure which type of test is right for you, please speak to a healthcare provider.
